Case reports seem to be low-hanging fruit in the realm of predatory publishing.

I have now been approached by no less than Sarah R Augustine, who found my article to be very knowledgeable. That would be praise indeed, and I'd be flattered, if I thought for just one moment that she had a clue what she was talking about. It wasn't a case report, and it has no connection to the realm in which case reports are even relevant.

Clinical medical case reports are easy to write up, they're just reporting the day job; the underlying work doesn't require additional funding; and they're generally short. So, crank that handle, pad that curriculum vitae, and shit that PDF onto the interwebz for no one to read.
