This is my truth

Looks like a pig, walks like a pig...

As we delight in BoJo's further embarrassment over restrictions-busting boozy knees-ups at Downing Street, his former chief adviser tried to blow all pretence of innocence-through-ignorance out of the water.

However, Mr Cummings, who worked in No 10 at the time of the party, has insisted Mr Johnson "knew he was at a drinks party cos he was told it was a drinks party and it was actually a drinks party".

If it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it probably is a duck. But BoJo prefers piggies, so he may not have understood the analogy.

Hmmm, perhaps I'm wrong, but I take double quotes to mean a verbatim quotation.

Ol' droidy gives no attribution for Dominic Cummings other than his blog. But that's not exactly what he wrote.

MPs should focus on the basics. • The PM's PPS invited people to a drinks party. • The PPS was told to cancel the invite by at least two people. • He checked with the PM whether the party should go ahead. • The PM agreed it should. • They both went to the party. • It was actually a drinks party. • The PM told MPs repeatedly that he had no idea about any parties.

I have no idea from where ol' droidy obtained Cummings' quote, it's not made clear in the article. So, even if I'm wrong about double quotes, I'm tagging this post accordingly.

In his defence, and contrary to Dominic Cummings' statement, BoJo claims that no one warned him that drinks parties were against the lockdown rules. So, that's okay then.

Jus' so's you're aware, Boz, murder's against the rules. So don't do it, mkay?
