Idly looking up the definition of medium, as is my wont, the macOS dictionary helpfully offered this little gem: the song soon discovers a happy medium between thrash and catchy pop.

I have no idea who comes up with these examples. But I wonder what misfortunes have befallen them, for them to find a song that reaches a happy medium between thrash—metal, I assume—and catchy pop. And to recognise it as such. (eek)

And what on earth does it sound like? (thinking)
