All's not what it seems

Stamp duty

Flugsicherung Marke 1872x1053 Angelo Boog / Swiss Post
Quite possibly one of the least inspiring commemorative stamps ever created.

Although released in the middle of last year, I have only today noticed—while collecting the mail—that Swiss Post is commemorating 100 years of Swiss air traffic control. I guess somebody has to, even if it's only to generate a little revenue from the philatelists. (shrug)

…and the matching postcard.

This, on the other hand, is a subject far more worthy of commemoration than Swiss air traffic control. Not that I'm shittin' on Swiss air traffic control, they do a great job. It's just not that enthralling.

Ukraine's national postal service, Ukrposhta, has released a stamp carrying a Banksy mural in Borodyanka (Kyiv region), showing a boy throwing a much larger opponent. The pejorative in the lower-left corner, ПТН ПНХ!, translates to FCK PTN!

Also available is a postcard, for anyone who wants to double-down on their message to Vlad the Invader.

Beebdroid suggests that: The mural depicts a man resembling Russian President Vladimir Putin being flipped during a judo match with a young boy. But resembling can mean anything: inasmuch as I'm Caucasian; have two arms, two legs, a head; and can't speak Swahili, I resemble him!

I'm not convinced that it's meant to be Putin himself as such, as much as a reflection on the David and Goliath nature of the war. Although Banksy moves in mysterious ways, whatever he does to perform, I reckon that even he could get a closer match to Putin's hair colour.
