Everyday thoughts, but not every day

Hopeful response

Spam messages from predatory publishers are not uncommon. They often follow a standard format, including one or more of the following: the urgency of their deadline; the eminence of one's work in the, often totally unrelated, field; fulsome praise of the recipient's character, if not manhood; spurious claims as to their academic value; no indication of the, carefully hidden, costs. Most go straight to the junk folder without comment, or even being read.

But, rarely, they make an appearance here, en route to electronic damnation.

Ones such as this, with the subject line Hopeful Response, from the Journal of Reproductive Medicine. I'm really only posting it here to remark on it being the first time that anyone, myself included, has described my article as legendary. (proud)
