In the same year that Glynis Johns passed on to the great celestial film studios in a state of damehoodlessness, Christopher Nolan and his wife, Emma Thomas, are to receive his 'n' hers matching gongs. Just for doing the day job like she did. Obviously people aren't knighted or damed for just doing their day job; there's more to it than that, the Cabinet Office said so years ago.
The government said the pair were being honoured for their services to film.
