Bombs away!
While perusing Wingnut Wings' Gotha G.1 photographic archive, I came across this image of a 50kg Carbonit
bomb mounted below the wing.
It seems to me to look rather careworn, with scuffed paint; as if it has been dropped a few times. If you think about it, a bomb that could be so badly treated without going off isn't the sort of thing that's likely to inspire confidence in its effectiveness when deployed in anger.
