Yeah, I know I'm talking bollocks

Disobeying disclaimer directives

I've received one identical message from Anna prior to this, and didn't give it much thought. It's not the usual predatory shitnitz; it's neither incompetent—other than being completely irrelevant to me—nor offensive…nor particularly interesting. And she's not egregiously lying to me, unlike that spambitch Gillian Francis. So Anna has not incurred my wrath, and is not deserving of my puerile telling-her-she's-a-ho-without-saying-she's-a-ho shtick.

Nevertheless, there's that boilerplate disclaimer to an unsolicited email. This message was sent directly to me, and I was named. Therefore I am the intended recipient, I haven't received it by mistake. But if the information is intended only for me, I shouldn't divulge it to anyone else. Actually, it contains nothing of commercial, or any, interest; so I don't understand why it should be kept to myself.

Yes, I know, boilerplate; it'll be attached automatically to all outgoing messages. And it's not really outrageous. It's just the presumptuousness of a spammer dictating their requirements to a UCE recipient that irritates me.

So I'm going to not comply, by posting it here. What a little shit I am.

Subject: Collaboration proposals with top chemical and pharma companies on small molecules
From: Anna Schmidt <anna.schmidt-lefevre@mg.rdinnomatching.com>
I am reaching out to you as we have been tasked by more than 50 large and medium chemical and pharma companies to look for compounds from academia, start-ups, and SMEs. These companies offer different partnering programs where they will screen these compounds to find new applications: it could be in various therapeutic areas but also other research areas such as crop sciences, animal health, cosmetics, food, etc. Each company has specific criteria for its screening and offers different benefits such as grants, patents, and publications. Would you be interested in a short introductory phone call in the next few days with the manager of these partnering programs to give you more details and answer questions you may have? For your information, Inospin has a network of 500+ innovation-driven leading companies with active external R&D programs, which are available on dedicated partnering platforms where academics and innovative SMEs can submit their proposals for collaboration. I have successfully unsubscribed from a shitlist that I never willingly subscribed to in the first place. We shall see.

PubCompare

Laura Alonso seems to think that I'd be honoured to republish a methods section from a six-year-old publication and pay for that honour. Yeah, I don't think so.

Incorrect. The methods in the paper are not missing, they are present in the paper. Otherwise, it would not have been published. If they’re relevant to your scientific community, they can find the exact methods therein. I have previously ā€˜unsubscribed’ from Inospin, and yet I’m receiving unsolicited commercial email from you. I note your disclaimer states ā€œPlease note that any unauthorized review, copying, disclosure or any other use of this information is strictly prohibited.ā€ So I’m posting your message online.
