The drains have backed up again

Justice League

I don't understand the hate that this film garnered. Perhaps it's Marvel fanbois trying to rain on DC's parade, or DC fanbois who're upset that it doesn't meet their preconceived ideas. If you come to this film objectively, it's entertaining enough.

Ben Affleck isn't quite up to Bale as Batman, but I'd say he's the next best interpretation of the character that I've seen. As before, Gal Gadot was superb as Wonder Woman. And I'm even beginning to warm to Superman; I've never had much interest in the character, but Henry Cavill was good in Justice League.

The humour was well-balanced. The plot was a little confusing though, and I didn't understand the ending; Steppenwolf's comeuppance seemed to be open to interpretation, at least from the point of view of a neophyte. But I'd watch it again anyway; perhaps second time will make more sense

The other downside is that three characters are introduced with no backstory. I know that Aquaman's is up this year; Cyborg probably doesn't need much more than is presented here; and Flash has a TV show, although, given my experience with Arrow, I'm not going to bother with it. Perhaps it's all no worse than Wonder Woman's pre-solo teaser appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

3.5/5. I've recently seen Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, so I'm feeling lucky.
