Will this madness never end?

Late bird discount

According to Prof. Giacomo Corrado, early submissions to Journal of Translational Science gain a discount of only £699. Which implies that late submissions get a better deal; perhaps the editorial team enjoys the thrill of just-in-time delivery. But I wonder what that deal is? (thinking)

Needless to say, I had to look up translational medicine to see what it means. It doesn't sound very interesting. No wonder they reward late manuscript submissions, the rush to publish must offer a frisson of excitement to counter the dullness of the journal's stock-in-trade.
