My "brilliant" research
A mere two weeks ago, Laura Oliveira expected my attendance as a speaker at Gynec‑2022. Now that she's found my brilliant research background in google database
[cough], I'm again invited to speak. I'm under no illusion that I've been specially selected for this dubious honour; if my expertise
in the field is anything to go by, then they've set the bar ridiculously low.
No, she's cycling through the same generic address list, the point of which completely escapes me: inviting total randoms to speak at an event far outside their competence, only serves to highlight the skeevy nature of the organisation that she represents. Interestingly, the From address for Gynec‑2022—or is it Gynec 2022?—has changed since her last missive, which betrays an attempt to bypass sender block lists. And, strangely, neither that nor the Reply-To address match the functional one in her signature.
The cost of attending this significant affair
in-person/virtual is $839/$539. Speakers get a measly $100 discount. I wonder what the chances are that everyone attending will also be speaking? Unfortunately, since I don't have that much interest in women's problems
, I'll never find out.
