What's that smell?

Superior stats

Recorded WuFlu cases in Pooh's fetid sewer have reached an all-time high as the Chongvirus enjoys its nationwide tour, sparking more stringent lockdowns and clashes between the sewer rats. Yet China's official statistics indicate that mortality rates are around a thousandfold lower than in the US and UK at the peak of the pandemic. Which goes to prove the superiority of China's response [cough] statistics.

BBC: Zero-Covid China asks is World Cup on a different planet? At the same time, Kerry Allen of BBC Monitoring—whatever that means as a reporting pigeonhole—informs us that those same rats are questioning why crowds attending the World Cup aren't facing the same restrictions as them, as they watch the tournament broadcast on China's national TV station.

The solution is simple. Since the Chinese national team didn't make it through to the finals—clearly, they couldn't fake their qualifying statistics as effectively as the Chinese authorities—just stop broadcasting the tournament. It shouldn't be too difficult, and I don't understand why Pooh's cronies didn't think of it before.
