And it's come to this

The bad and the beautiful

BBC Future: “Starbucks' new olive oil-infused coffee has customers complaining of laxative side effects”For some reason, this appears under BBC Future, rather than BBC World's Table; BBC Worklife; or BBC Pimping, but Starbucks has a new coffee to keep you regular. Although a little more regular than some of its customers had bargained for, apparently. (poop)

The big-brained idea of infusing coffee with extra virgin olive oil—a key ingredient of the healthy Mediterranean diet—comes courtesy of the company's founder, Howard Schultz. But, given Starbucks' predilection for loading its coffee with girth-enhancing shit, which has gotta negate any health benefits imparted by adding the oil in the first place, this seems to me like nothing more than a damned waste of good olive oil.*

Indeed, its 16-ounce Oleato Cafe Latte with oat milk packs 330 calories. For comparison, a teaspoon of EVOO carries a more modest 40 calories.

I think I'll stick to drizzling it on salads and vegetables. Olive oil, that is, not coffee.

* I'm assuming that Partanna is a good brand of EVOO, I don't know for sure since I've never tried it myself. Although if it were that good, why bastardise the flavour with coffee?
