It seems that, besides the purple prose, Tom King is also a douchebag.
Why does DC give this guy work? I'm fully aware that my one lost sale is neither here nor there. Not everyone pays attention to this shit and, of those who do, not all give a damn. Hell's teeth, some might actually get off on it. Nevertheless, how many more are lost because they hire someone who's not only a crappy writer, but also a crappy human being on social media?
Perhaps these matters are of no concern to DC's management. (shrug)
