The Human Target is a transcendently beautiful series about a man learning to live just in time to die. It's about being alone and being in love; it's about knowing just where you're going and having no idea where you are. It's a grimy sexy pulp romance Justice League book and its comics' next true obsession.

It's a pity, because Greg Smallwood's artwork for the title has a '50s/'60s retro feel which really appeals to me. But if that purple prose is an example of King's writing, then…hnnng!
