Closing the gender gap

Another day, another hashtag movement. And this one concerns US police brutality. Just for a change.

This time, we're recognising that it's not only black men that are killed by the cops. They also kill black women.

Black women in the US are disproportionately more likely to be killed by police than white women. Despite this, the campaign group Say Her Name believes deaths of black women at the hands of police are overlooked compared to deaths of black men like George Floyd.

It's reassuring to know that, while there may be racists and murderers among the ranks of US law enforcement, at least they practice gender equality.
