I think I've pissed myself

Chelmsford 123

a road sign for Chelmsford, spelt incorrectly as Chelmsord Lauren Carter/BBC
You say Chelmsord, I say Chelmsford.

A road sign outside Chelmsford, Essex, has the town incorrectly spelt as Chelmsord due to a printing error. The error wasn't present at the design stage, so the printer clearly hasn't got the hang of copy/paste.

Not unlike old droidy, which managed to repeat the same press response from Essex Highways, slightly reworded, and separated by a rather pointless image of a correctly-spelt sign for Chelmsford:

Essex County Council apologised to residents for the "unfortunate mistake". It confirmed the error, which was not present at the design stage, appeared during printing and a replacement sign would be "installed as soon as possible". [IMAGE] Essex Highways said: "We apologise to local residents about this unfortunate mistake. "The mistake was not present in the design that Essex Highways signed off, but appeared during printing and the developer is aware that it needed to be replaced as a priority. "The replacement will be installed as soon as possible."

They never had these problems in AD 123.

A little invisible editing to the text below the image does nothing to address the fact that it's effectively a duplicate. (shrug)

"The developer concerned is aware that the sign needs to be replaced as a priority and at no cost to Essex taxpayers. "We will ensure the developer installs the replacement as soon as possible."
