DMCA...run!

Ant Man 3 posterDisney Marvel Studios are sad. Sad that their latest entry into the MCU's pantheon, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, bombed harder than the raid on Dresden, 13–15 February 1945.

But, rather than taking this as an opportunity to learn what it was about the film that turned audiences off—it received lacklustre reviews and set a new franchise record for its second-weekend box office drop—they've decided to go on the attack. Not unlike the RAF and USAAF, 13–15 February 1945.

Because, you see, frisky little minxes on Reddit were having a high old time with a translation of the script, a month before the film's release. Ooops! And now Disney's lawyers are going scorched earth with DMCA strikes against Reddit and Google.

Perhaps they think the leaked script had a negative effect on the film's box office performance, when that could've been corrected just by making a better film. That's okay by me; those who don't learn by history are condemned to repeat it. And anything that loses Disney money brings joy to my heart.

Up to 25,000 people died during the bombing of Dresden. No one died during the bombing of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania. Hell's teeth, the scriptwriter has even been rewarded with the job of writing another entry into the pantheon, Avengers: The Kang Dynasty. An example of failing upwards, which seems to be quite the thing at the House of Mouse.

As a thirty-something white man, Jeff Loveness must associate with some protected minority to keep his arse covered like that. Ordinarily, he'd be lucky to get one shot in Hollywoke, let alone a follow-up to failure. Jus' sayin'. (thinking)
