This is my truth

Not all you can eat

Efforts to cut down on food wastage in China have brought some characteristically restrictive practices to Pooh's squalid shithole. Including limiting the number of dishes that can be ordered, and even needs-testing patrons:

For example, the Wuhan Catering Industry Association urges restaurants in the city to follow a system where groups must order one dish less than the number of diners. Some restaurants even weigh customers before their meals to determine how much food they should be given.

The latter could go either way. Do heavier people get more, because they'll likely to eat it, or they need more energy? Or do they get less, to deter overeating and encourage weight loss? Either way, it's gotta be no more humilating than having their bill determined by their bra size, albeit involuntary.

China also banned the livestreaming of binge eating and competitive eating. Many online accounts that feature such eaters have been shut down.

Which should at least go down well in those all-you-can-eat buffets. Unless they've been closed for encouraging gluttony, that is.
