Sicness
Lest anyone consider me petty and pedantic for occasionally drawing attention to the BBC's minor editorial oversights—typographical errors, that is, not stealth editing—you're right, I am. But, I'm not alone.
BBC News itself—or one of its reporters, Natalie Sherman—is not above the same trick. Double-reporting AOC's tweet affords her the opportunity to highlight her typo, although she dropped a couple of pedantry points by not only overlooking the wayward apostrophe, but actually correcting the error!
Honestly, you wouldn't think that copy/pasting text from a tweet would be so challenging, would you? (SMH)
"Daily reminder that Ticketmaster is a monopoly, its [sic] merger with LiveNation should never have been approved, and they need to be reigned [sic] in," wrote left-wing congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. "Break them up."
Natalie Sherman, business reporter, BBC News
If you're gonna be a pedantic smart-arse, Nat, at least try not to do such a half-arsed job of it.
