Vegetarianism as the moral high ground
This, on the IMDb boards, made me realise that there's more to vegetarianism than not wanting to eat something that had a face.
And if you're going to try the argument that God doesn't want us to eat animals, then why would he have made them out of meat? … I'm not a vegetarian because I love animals... I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants!
Which puts me in mind of a conversation that I had with a vegetarian friend at school. He asked me why, if I loved animals, did I eat them? To which I replied that it's because they taste nice.
Is any other reason needed?
